Code of Conduct for Parents / Guardians

  • Encourage your child to learn the rules and participate within them.
  • Discourage challenging / arguing with officials.
  • Publicly accept officials' judgements.
  • Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
  • Set a good example by recognising good sportsmanship and applauding the good performances of all.
  • Never force your child to take part in sport.
  • Keep Earls Gymnastics informed if your child is ill or unable to attend sessions.
  • Endeavour to establish good communications with the club, coaches and officials for the benefit of all.
  • Share any concerns or complaints about any aspect of the club through the approved channels.
  • Never punish or belittle a child for poor performance or making mistakes.
  • Support your child's involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
  • For safety reasons hair is to be kept neat and tidy and tied of the face. Please note beads and large hard bobbles are not acceptable as they cause pain for the gymnast when rolled on. Beads have previously fallen out and caused a hazard for all participants.
  • For safety reasons, ALL jewellery must be removed. This includes ear piercings, even if your child has recently had their ears pierced we will allow plasters to cover the earnings which the gymnasts and parents must provide. If earnings are not able to be covered or removed, then entry into the gym will not be allowed.
  • To avoid disruption and to make sure your child is supervised throughout please make sure they have been to the toilet before the lesson starts. We recommend young children who do need to go to the toilet during the lesson must be accompanied by an adult and we would prefer this not to be a coach!
  • For a satisfactory rate of development please ensure your child attends training session regularly.
  • Your child should be brought into the centre 5 minutes before the lesson, therefore in time for registration and should be collected promptly from the centre at the end of the lesson.
  • If your child is more than 10 minutes late they will not be able to participate as they will have missed the warm up which is vital for injury prevention. There will be no refund if your child is late and therefore unable to join in the session.
  • Parents, carers and gymnasts are asked to use correct and proper language at all times, and to ensure you are respectful to others including their families, coaches and admin staff.
  • All course fees are to be paid via direct debit through our payment provider Loveadmin.com. If fees are not paid, we have the right to offer your child's space to our waiting list. This is vital for planning and grouping.
  • For child protection reasons photography or filming is not permitted during sessions unless you have made prior arrangements and have written consent from the Head Coach.
  • To inform us if your contact details change by emailing us at info@earlsgymnastics.co.uk
  • While in the gymnasium every effort will be made to ensure the safety of all class members.
  • It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure their safety while in the entrance lobby and seating areas and any toilet or changing facilities.
  • It is parental responsibility in ensuring the safe entry and exit of their children from the gym centre and vice versa.
  • Parents/guardians are kindly requested to make sure that children do not bring items of value such as watches with them.
  • Earls Gymnastics or any of their staff will not be responsible for any lost items.
  • Whilst parent feedback is encouraged, parents are asked to initially discuss any issues via email. This stops the sessions being disrupted and gives the Head Coach an opportunity to give each issue raised the time and attention it deserves. Please send all emails to info@earlsgymnastics.co.uk
  • It is your responsibility to inform Earls Gymnastics via email if you no longer wish to be a member of the club and provide written notice of at least two weeks prior to a new month commencing. This allows enough time for us to offer your space to our waiting list. If notice is given later than this, then we may charge you for the month or one further direct debit payment .
  • You agree by joining Earls Gymnastics to read correspondence sent to you either physically or electronically and respond in a timely way.
  • If attending competitions, you agree to behave in a way that is respectful and appropriate.
  • You understand that Earls Gymnastics are not responsible for any belongings that you leave during the lesson.
