Mini Gym

For children aged 3 and 4 years old

‍Mini Gym

Structured classes for children to develop their physical and social skills in a safe and fun environment.

Our aim is to give the children a safe, enjoyable and challenging gymnastics experience. The sessions are planned on a termly basis to ensure a balanced and varied programme for the children.

Classes are for children aged 3 and 4 years old. These sessions aim to improve their fundamental skills such as coordination, spatial awareness, balance, strength and flexibility in a progressively structured yet fun gymnastics session.

Gymnasts work in small groups under the direction of a coach in a safe and stimulating environment which utilises a variety of equipment.

We run a British Gymnastics Pre-School Proficiency Award Scheme and the gymnasts are routinely assessed to monitor their progress.

Moving to school years classes from Mini Gym can be a little scary. Our 4-5pm classes are for Reception age children - 6 years old.

This helps with the transition between classes and allows some children to move to school years classes early so we can ensure classes are still fun and challenging.

* Children attending schools years gym classes before they turn 5 years old when in reception class at school is subject to the individual demonstrating enough physical and mental maturity.

Funding for Balance-Ability

Schools can utilize their Sport Premium Funding with Balance-Ability meeting the following targets:

  • Embedding physical activity into the school day through active travel to and from school, active break times and active lessons and teaching.

  • Develop or add to the PE, Physical Activity and Sport that your school provides.

  • Providing targeted activities or support to involve and encourage the least active children.

Hassle free evidence and impact for teachers

RB Gym and Sport Educators ensure that Balance-ability is a progressive 'outcome based' learning programme where children are assessed at regular points throughout the course in order to monitor and measure progress. Schools will receive assessment data to help them account for physical literacy within children and a short impact report to help evidence the programme to Ofsted and use in your Sport Premium Evidence and Impact report.
